Modern sustainable luxury inspired by the native plant fibers and ancient handcrafted traditions of Yucatán, México.
The natural fibers we use in our products have been selected for their beauty and resiliency. With use, henequen and sansevieria plant fibers become more luminous and supple, and with the passage of time, take on characteristics and personality all their own.
To ensure your Angela Damman product ages beautifully, we recommend the following:
Our products are dyed by hand with traditional techniques, therefore normal use or prolonged exposure to the sun may cause changes in the fiber’s color. We recommend you do not keep your product in direct sunlight.
As natural fibers are prone to absorb humidity from the environment, you’ll want to store your product in a cool and dry place. Should your product absorb unwanted humidity, put outside in the sun for a brief time (a couple of hours) for the UV rays to burn off the moisture. If you live in a dry climate, sanseviera fiber may become dehydrated. We recommend spraying (lightly) with fabric softener diluted with water.
The henequen textile and sansevieria threads may be professionally cleaned. For light stains, you may use a damp cloth and mild soap. We recommend professional cleaning of leather and suede.
Henequen textile may be ironed. Sansevieria threads may be straightened (if so desired) with an iron or by dampening your hands with water and pulling the threads straight.
Do not overload the weight in your bag, that can modify the shape of the fiber and leather, in addition to weaken the handles.
